To plan and make an audio presentation as a way of pitching our magazine in a professional and detailed manner in order to appeal to a publisher

1) When public speaking, what is it important to remember to do?
  1. Loud and clear voice
  2. Make eye contact with the audience
  3. Show confidence
  4. Speak formally
  5. Back up information with facts/statistics
  6. Use professional language
  7. Plan/Prepare for it

2) If a publisher was listening to your pitch, what would they want to know about your project.
  1. Give the main details about the magazine e.g budget, ideas
  2. How research has affected your decision making.

This is the 1st version of my audio presentation.

This is the 2nd version of my presentation 7/01/14

This is the 3rd version of my presentation 30/01/14

  1. To improve your audio presentation:
    - Try to say less obvious things like 'my front cover will have large text and uses some colours'. Try to say things that maybe wouldn't have thought of, something more imaginative and interesting to show you've really thought about it.
    - Use more keywords (see layout glossary sheets, also on shared drive)
    - Add a lot more images on here to discuss
    - show a wider range of examples - make sure you discuss at least 3 local music mags

  2. If I had the chance to interview a real life music star I would interview The Kooks as they are a Brighton based band, this is because The Kooks are a band that isn't led one way by the gender of their fans. My questionnaire showed that my magazine audience where 50/50 male and female so this band would be a good interview to have as I could ask them about what they like and dislike about music and what music is like in Brighton.
